Who’s more excited about the new Indiana Jones movie — you or your kids?
Do your kids even know who Dr. Jones is? Do you think kids can appreciate the new movie the way we will?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I am desperate for a baby sitter for Saturday night so my husband and I can go see the new Indiana Jones movie. We both grew up on them, although I love them more than he does. (I keep singing the theme song.)
He bought me the new DVD set for my birthday in April so I would be ready for the new one. I actually kind of want to see it with my brother because that’s who I saw them with the first time.
Our kids haven’t seen any of them yet. I think they’re still too young — melting Nazis would freak my daughter out! But it will be exciting when they’re finally old enough to see it.
Are your kids interested in seeing the new movie? Have they seen the old ones? Who’s more excited to go? When will you try to see it?

I’m surprised that I’m not dying to see it (I had a thing for Indy in those movies growing up—maybe it’s cause he’s so old now!)
But thanks—now I have that music stuck in my head! ARRGGHHHHH

I recall seeing the first one in the theater. The sequels…no. My folks took my brother, but I begged off. I just don’t get the hype. Yes, Harrison Ford is cute in the early films…..he is not aging as his ‘father’ Sean Connery did…but he is still not ugly and says he did his own stunts.
No, I think this house will pass on the movie. Although I have a friend who really wants to see it, the things we do for others…..
On the flip side I do want to see Narnia. I had planned to take the kids yesterday but then one defected to Grandma’s for the weekend. We’ll go another day.

I’m looking forward to seeing the movie, definitely more than my kids who didn’t even know who Indiana Jones was until the previews started airing. They do know Harrison Ford from the Star Wars movies, however, and my youngest wants to see the previous Indy movies.
We’d planned on going this weekend, but the husband had yard work and other chores on the front burner. We generally don’t see a lot of movies at the theater, waiting for them to come to HBO or out on DVD, but this one I wanted to see on the big screen.

My son also knows Harrison Ford as Han Solo! This will definitely call for a trip to the theater — but just for my husband and me.
