Corey B.: hoola hoop

When you first put in the DVD, you might feel like you’re watching a dharma initiative training video. The hoop is huge, so I had to shove furniture out of the way to have enough room for clearance. The instructions are clear, with camera angles showing the instructor’s full body. After the first session, I got the hoop going fine, but each time I tried to go beyond the basics, the hoop hit the floor. Apparently, I lack coordination. I kept thinking, “I could be out running, enjoying fresh air and feeling accomplished.” I dreaded the workouts, so after a week, I gave up. I ended up with tender love handles from all the hoop action. If you’re looking for something new, and you’re coordinated, give it a try. If you have a routine that you enjoy, and you lack rhythm, steer clear.
