Clinical Trials Update: Dec. 9, 2005 (HealthDay News) -- Here are the latest clinical trials, courtesy of CenterWatch: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) If you're on an emotional rollercoaster and show signs of anxiety, depression and irritability, you may have premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Central Kentucky Research Associates is conducting a clinical research trial to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a medication for PMDD in females 18-49. The research site is in Lexington, Ky. More Information Please see http://www.centerwatch.com/patient/studies/cat691.html. ----- Pregnancy Biogen Idec, the maker of AMEVIVE (Alefacept), has established a registry to collect information on pregnancies and the children of those pregnancies exposed to AMEVIVE. Participants are pregnant women who were exposed to AMEVIVE within eight weeks prior to conception or at any time during pregnancy. Registry phone representatives will help to determine eligibility. The research sites are in Iowa, Kansas and Kentucky. If your doctor has diagnosed you with strep throat, you may qualify for a clinical research study of tonsillitis and pharyngitis. Participants should be 12 years of age or older, not allergic to penicillin, able to swallow tablets of the research medication, have not taken an antibiotic in the last 30 days, and must have a clinical diagnosis of acute tonsillitis and/or pharyngitis with sore throat and other symptoms of tonsillitis and/or pharyngitis.
