Healthy Patient Studies

If you have a child between 7 and 13 years of age, you might like to take part in a study to advance research on how children and mothers relate to one another.

Requirements are about two hours of your time on a pre-selected day and time to fill out some forms. You will receive $40 after completing your study involvement, and you and your child will be asked to complete forms on mood and do some brief tasks together.

The research site is in Los Angeles.

Chronic Back Pain

A clinical research trial is currently underway evaluating an investigational medication for chronic low back pain.

If you have had low back pain severe enough to require frequent medication for the past three months, you may be eligible for this placebo-controlled study.

Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders

This is a clinical trial testing the safety and effectiveness of an atypical antipsychotic medication in adolescents with Bipolar I disorder.

Male or female patients, aged 10 to 17, are eligible; up to 4 weeks' study will be conducted on an outpatient basis with an option for inpatient hospitalization.

Subjects will be randomized into one of three groups and will receive study medicine or a placebo (an inactive substance).

The research site is in Little Rock, Ark.
