Atlanta VA gets special nursing designation
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Atlanta VA Medical Center recently received the “Magnet “ designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The designation is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to hospitals that meet specific criteria for nursing professionalism, teamwork and high standards in patients care. The VA hospital in Decatur is one of six in the state that have received the designation over the years.
Only about 6 percent of hospitals across the United States receive the designation. The Atlanta VA hospital underwent a detailed evaluation process that included the submission of an extensive application and volumes of data, stories and interviews.
