Mike Bibby, Speedy Claxton to miss game

Veteran point guards Mike Bibby (oblique strain) and Speedy Claxton (hamstring) won’t play Wednesday, Hawks coach Mike Woodson said, but both could be ready to resume regular practice activity as early as Thursday.

Woodson wants his entire team on the floor together for the final two weeks of the preseason, if only to make sure the chemistry and conditioning is where it needs to be in time for the Oct. 29 regular-season opener in Orlando.

“I don’t want these guys to lose their conditioning,” Woodson said. “And that goes for Bibby, Marvin and Speedy. We’ve got to have everything in order when the [regular] season starts.”
