The Hawks pulled off the monster trade they were looking for by getting Mike Bibby. They also snatched back another title with the trade that included parting ways with their three oldest players — Anthony Johnson, Lorenzen Wright and Tyronn Lue. The Hawks are again the NBA's youngest team, averaging 23 years and 29 days, taking the title back from Portland. Bibby, 29, now qualifies as the team's elder statesman, followed by captain and All-Star Joe Johnson, 26. "That's something I didn't really think about when this deal went down," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said before the Hawks played the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday at Staples Center.

RECHARGED: Josh Smith said the time off for All-Star Weekend did his body good. Having worked overtime in the post with Al Horford all season, Smith took a trip to a Mexican resort that he said helped recharge his battery. "For a couple of minutes each day you almost forgot about the rest of the world it was so beautiful," Smith said. "My first two years I was involved with All-Star Weekend, so I didn't realize what some of the [veteran players] were talking about when they said they needed those three or four days of rest to get their energy back up."

PHIL SAYS: Lakers coach Phil Jackson is no stranger to blockbuster trades this season, his team having acquired Pau Gasol from Memphis. The deal for Bibby is one that Jackson said makes sense. "Well, he's a very confident lead guard, and Atlanta really hasn't had a lead guard there in some time," Jackson said before Tuesday's game.
