A 1990’s R&B group singer who last week allegedly absconded with his 10-month-old child has been arrested in North Carolina, Duluth police said Friday.

Investigators this week received a tip that Brian Augustus Dalyrimple, of the Dalyrimple brothers quartet known as Soul for Real, had been staying at a friend’s house in Charlotte, N.C.

They found him hiding in a closet at the friend’s home, according to Duluth Police spokesman Maj. Don Woodruff.

Dalyrimple was arrested Wednesday without a fight. His infant son, LaBrian, was with him when police came to the house. Police said the baby will be returned to his grandmother in Alpharetta, who has been appointed custodial guardian. Dalyrimple allegedly abducted LaBrian from his grandmother’s apartment on Feb. 22. Dalyrimple and the child’s mother, 28-year-old Laborah Milison Crawford, are accused of orchestrating financial thefts totaling up to $1 million from more than 145 victims in Duluth and 115 victims in other jurisdictions.
