The caller said the suspect then left with one of the caller’s roommates in that person’s vehicle.

About 1:30 a.m., an officer spotted the victim’s vehicle and chased the car a short distance to Arden Drive in Buford, Spellman said.

“The suspect that was driving the victim’s vehicle … was still wearing a bandana that was covering his face when he was confronted by the officer,” Spellman said. “The suspect brandished a weapon and the officer was forced to shoot the suspect.”

Spellman said the suspect was taken to a local hospital with non-life theatening injuries. Neither the victim nor the officer was hurt, she said.

The names of the officer and suspect have not been released. Spellman said the suspect “may face criminal charges which may include, but is not limited to, armed robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.”
