The Gwinnett County man accused of molesting a relative and an 8-year-old boy who was in his Cub Scout den faces accusations that he committed indecent acts against seven more children, all of whom he knew through scouts, police said.

Last month, Brett Taylor, 44, from the Lawrenceville area, was arrested on charges related to inappropriately touching and photographing a boy who had been in Taylor's Cub Scout den. The boy was at Taylor's house for a sleepover with Taylor's son, whom he knew through scouts. The sleepover was not affiliated with Cub Scouts.

Police said they later learned Taylor had also molested another family member for a long period of time.

He is charged with three counts of child molestation, four counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of sexual battery. Other charges may be filed, police said.

Thursday, Gwinnett police said that the seven children came forward alleging acts ranging from being inappropriately photographed to acts of sodomy. The children range in age from 6 to 9 years old. There are a total of 10 alleged victims. More interviews are scheduled with more children.

Gwinnett County spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said the acts took place at Taylor's home and not at Cub Scout events.

Taylor is being held without bond in Gwinnett County jail. His attorney, Walt Britt, could not be reached Thursday afternoon as he was in court. Last week, Britt said that "Mr. Taylor maintains his innocence."

Taylor was suspended from Cub Scouts after the first allegations. He also resigned from the Gwinnett County Public Library Board.

Anyone with information about the case can call investigators at 770-513-5300.
