The cost to get Trisha Cardillo of Disability Awareness out of jail has reached $2,000. Eryn Austin of Accent South is up to $910. And James Brown, maintenance manager for Gwinnett Water Production, is at $1,900.
Along with other business and community leaders in Buford, the three will spend Tuesday locked up in the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The money raised for bail —actually, donations made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association— to spring the jailbirds will help support a summer camp for children run by the MDA.

Last year, the community donated $25,000 to the MDA. Organizers want to top that amount this year.
Making "arrests" and escorting the participants to the Environmental and Heritage Center will be officers from the Gwinnett Sheriff's Department, Tri-Star Protective Services and the Georgia State Patrol. Once inside, the jailbirds will call friends and supporters with Verizon cell phones to encourage them to help make bail.
In keeping with the spirit of incarceration, the participants will be subjected to mug shots and will receive bread and water — from the Atlanta Bread Company and O'Charley's Restaurant. They will return by limousine to their jobs.
The event will raise money for the MDA clinics at Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. It will fund research and provide services to local families.
