Fluellen was parked at the bottom of the Ga. 85 ramp from I-75 South when the driver struck the back of Fluellen’s patrol car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

The Georgia State Patrol arrested the driver on charges of drunken driving and failure to yield, Sanchez said. She was taken to Grady Hospital with serious injuries. Her identity was unavailable Tuesday night, Sanchez said.

The deputy was not injured and is scheduled to return to work Wednesday.
