In tribute to the life of Meredith Emerson, who was abducted on a New Years Day hike in North Georgia and subsequently murdered, Right to Hike, Inc. will raise funds in metro Atlanta Applebee's restaurants Wednesday evening.
As part of Applebee's "Dining to Donate" program, patrons can participate by visiting www.righttohikeinc.com and printing a coupon that directs 15 percent of their food bill to the organization.
Take-out orders are included. To promote hiking safety, Right to Hike Inc. plans to equip hikers and outposts with pagers that can alert emergency personnel of their location. A demonstration will take place at the Applebee's Perimeter Center Place location, where board members and friends of Emerson will be on hand.
