The NFL draft continued to be good to the ACC and SEC on Sunday as 50 players from those leagues were taken in the final five rounds.
Four players from LSU, the defending national champion, were taken in the third and fourth rounds of the draft, led by All-SEC cornerback Chevis Jackson, who was selected by the Falcons with the No. 68 pick. With the very next pick, fullback Jacob Hester went to San Diego. The two other LSU players to go in the first two rounds of Sunday's portion of the draft were wide receiver Early Doucet (to Arizona), whose injury problems dropped him all the way to No. 81, and hard-hitting safety Craig Steltz, another All-SEC player, who was picked at 120 by Chicago.

Vanderbilt's Earl Bennett, the SEC's all-time leading receiver with 236 catches in three seasons, was finally taken at No. 70 by Chicago.
Kentucky and Auburn each had two players taken in rounds 3 and 4. Auburn defensive tackle Pat Simms went to Cincinnati at No. 77. Cornerback Jonathon White went to New England with pick No. 129.
Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme could be one of the steals in this draft when he was taken at No. 127 by Indianapolis. Tamme led all SEC tight ends in receptions last season with 56 and averaged 11.1 yards per catch. Tamme's teammate at Kentucky, wide receiver Keenan Burton, was taken at No. 128 by St. Louis.
Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech both had two players picked in rounds 3 and 4. The NFL continues to like the Hokies' defense as Chris Ellis, an All-ACC first-team defensive end, went to Buffalo at No. 72 while linebacker Xavier Adibi, another All-ACC, went to Houston at No. 118.
Five Virginia Tech players were chosen in the first two rounds, more than any other school in the ACC.
Georgia Tech linebacker Philip Wheeler went to Indianapolis at No. 93 while teammate Tashard Choice, an All-ACC running back, went to Dallas at No. 122.
