Two people were killed in a car accident on northbound I-85 near Buford Monday evening.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 1998 Ford Explorer was traveling north on I-85 when, “for an unknown reason,” the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn several times south of Ga. 20 about 7:15 p.m., according to Gwinnett County police reports.

The vehicle flipped over a guardrail and continued down an embankment before coming to rest in a wooded area, police said.
Emergency responders discovered two occupants dead at the scene. One was ejected from the vehicle and the other was wearing a seat belt in the front passenger seat.
Gwinnett police on Tuesday identified the dead passengers as Cesar Augusto Lopez, 35, of Guatemala, and Wilzon Aguilar, 44, of Texas.
The driver, Guillermo Gamero, 35, of Texas, was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
All northbound lanes of I-85 were shut down briefly as a result of the accident.
