Larry Fitzgerald mediocre while fantasy owners have flashbacks to 2012

By Sharona Sports

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald caught three passes for 43 yards in the Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers. Unfortunately, Fitzgerald is suffering the same curse that caused his fantasy value to plummet in 2012. His quarterback is just terrible. Fitzgerald was only targeted six times while Carson Palmer continued to stink up the field for the Cardinals. On the year, Fitzgerald has 40 targets, 24 receptions, 288 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. It's sad to see a wide receiver in his prime like Fitzgerald continue to deal with a terrible quarterback situation.

Fantasy impact: Fitzgerald has to be joining everyone else in having flashbacks to the 2012 season when his fantasy value took an epic hit under terrible quarterback play. With no signs of much changing, Fitzgerald will continue to stagnate in the Cardinals' terrible offense. Fitzgerald is still getting the majority of the targets and is the Cardinals leading receiver, but that isn't saying much with Palmer playing so poorly. He is only a matchup play at this point.
