Predictably, Vegas oddsmakers aren't expecting much from the Boston College football team this weekend as they travel to Death Valley to take on Heisman hopeful Tajh Boyd and the #3/4 Clemson Tigers. The Wynn Las Vegas has installed the Eagles as a 26-point road underdog (!) for this weekend's ACC Atlantic Division contest.
As one would expect with the decline of the program, this is a series that has gotten away from the Eagles in recent seasons. After winning each of the first three ACC meetings between the two programs, BC has lost two straight and four of five. Last year, Boston College hung with the Tigers for a half before Clemson's explosive offense put the game out of reach.
Overall, BC is 3-4-1 at Clemson in the all-time series and has lost two straight in Death Valley.
2012: Clemson 45, Boston College 31 (CU -7)
2011: Clemson 36, Boston College 14 (CU -21)
2010: Boston College 16, Clemson 10 (BC +7)
2009: Clemson 25, Boston College 7 (CU -9)
2008: Clemson 27, Boston College 21 (CU +2.5)
2007: Boston College 20, Clemson 17 (BC +9)
2006: Boston College 34, Clemson 33 (BC +1)
2005: Boston College 16, Clemson 13 (BC +3)
The ACC series is knotted at 4-4 (and 4-4 ATS), with Clemson covering in four of the last five games. Both the Eagles and Tigers are 3-2-0 this year against the spread.
Other week 7 lines of note:
Florida State, Wake Forest, North Carolina and New Mexico State are all idle this weekend.
