Another of Boston College's quarterback targets is off the board as University School (Hollywood, Florida) QB Sean White committed to Auburn. White chooses the Tigers over Wisconsin.
I have just committed to Auburn University! WAR EAGLE!!!!!— Sean White (@SeanWhite_12) July 16, 2013
The 6-foot-2, 204 pound signal caller claimed offers from more than a dozen programs including Boston College, Cincinnati, South Florida, Syracuse, Wake Forest and West Virginia. White's recruitment skyrocketed following his performances this summer at the Elite 11 and The Opening, where he was named MVP.
White rated as a four-star recruit by 247 and ESPN, and a three-star recruit by Rivals and Scout.
As many of these QBs began verbally committing to programs and the recruiting chips started to fall in place ... Darius Wade to Boston College ... Elijah Staley to Mississippi State ... Zack Darlington to Nebraska ... Stephen Collier to Ohio State ... D.J. Gillins to Wisconsin ... Trace McSorley to Vanderbilt ... White's Crystal Ball started to turn more and more towards Auburn, so no one should be all that surprised by this commitment.
For the Eagles, the only uncommitted QBs holding BC offers at the moment is JaJuan Lawson (Petaluma, CA). 247Sports also mentions that things aren't done yet for Gillins ($), who will take official visits this fall regardless of his verbal commitment to the Badgers (though I personally can't see BC flipping Gillins commitment). If it's not Lawson and the staff is set on taking two QBs in this class, two unheralded local recruits who may get a look include Miles Wright (Marion, MA) and Stephen Barmore (Southington, CT).
As I said this morning, if it's me, I'm shutting it down at QB for 2014 and shifting focus to recruiting other, more pressing needs as well as starting in on 2015. That, and ensuring that any of the current verbal commits are gonna stick with the Eagles.
