Letting go isn't always the easiest thing to do. Former Atlanta Hawks point guard Mike Bibby is looking for one last chance in the NBA and is participating in a mini-camp with the San Antonio Spurs. Bibby last played two seasons ago with the New York Knicks and was out of the league last season. He stated earlier this summer that he'd like to play one more season in the league before getting into coaching.
A roster spot likely isn't at stake during the Spurs' mini-camp but a training camp invite possibly could be. While he may not figure into the Spurs' plans a decent showing could garner him some notice from around the league. From a coaching aspect potentially latching on with the Spurs could be a great career starting move for Bibby.
Bibby has played with six NBA teams and helped solidify the Hawks' point guard position after being acquired in a trade with Sacramento in 2008. He averaged 14.9 points and five assists in 2009 and was traded in 2011 as part of the deal with the Washington Wizards to acquire Kirk Hinrich. He played just two games with the Wizards before agreeing to a buyout and finished the season with the Miami Heat. Bibby appeared in 39 games with the New York Knicks in 2012 averaging just 2.6 points.
