Gwinnett Braves 6, Charlotte Knights 0
With Freddie Freeman rehabbing for the second straight night the Braves pounded the Knights. Freeman did exactly what you would expect a good hitter to do against inferior competition and also showed that he is ready to get back to Atlanta. Joey Terdoslavich had two extra base hits for the third consecutive game and has eight in his last six games. On the mound, Daniel Rodriguez bounced back nicely with six strong innings with ten strike outs. An impressive turnaround given that he allowed nine runs and got just one out two outings back.
Mississippi Braves 8, Mobile BayBears 5
After two dramatic wins in a double header yesterday the Braves continued their ways today. Trailing 5-3 going into the ninth inning the Braves put together a rally that saw them score five runs, the last two driven in by Ryne Harper, a relief pitcher. Aaron Northcraft also contributed a double to his own cause today. Christian Bethancourt left the game in the top of the third inning after he knocked a double. No word yet on if it was an injury or what but hopefully it was nothing serious.
Salem Red Sox 7, Lynchburg Hillcats 4
I have always been confused by Ryan Weber because I think he should be better than his stats indicate. He has shown one of the best sinkers in the business when he has been on the mound but he has never really dominated for any extended period of time. Robby Hefflinger has been putting together a nice season with an iso of nearly .300 through the first couple of weeks.
Asheville Tourists 1, Rome Braves 0
After back to back starts where he didn't make it out of the third inning, Rafael Briceno put the clamps down on the Tourists offense save for one home run he gave up. Unfortunately for Rome that works both ways, and they collected just five hits on the night.
