#20 Florida 2-1 (1-0 SEC)

Florida's offense took a potential hit with the loss of QB Jeff Driskell for the year with an ankle injury. Tyler Murphy moved the offense well against Tennessee when given the chance. It will be interesting to see how he progresses. Will teams figure him out and stifle him the way they did Driskell, or is his style (both running and passing) a better fit for the Gators? Florida also got bad news when it was determined that senior DT Dominique Easley would miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury. Easley had earned a reputation of a pocket-disruptor and will be tough to replace. Florida face Kentucky this weekend. It will be a good chance for Murphy to work some kinks out of his game.

#9 Georgia 2-1 (1-0)

Freshman linebacker Leonard Floyd already has seven quarterback hurries on the year. I haven't actually noticed him when watching Georgia play, but that's an impressive statistic. If Georgia's defense can continue making plays, they could be really scary. Aaron Murray is having his best statistical season yet and has already played against South Carolina and Clemson. Georgia takes on LSU this weekend in an epic, epic game. A&M; vs. Bama was billed as the game of the decade, and with good reason, but this could be the second best SEC game of the year.

Kentucky 1-2 (0-0)

Kentucky's recipe to success this season is probably to make a few big offensive plays a game and hope its enough for the defense to be able to hold on and win the game. That's why I can't really understand why they're struggling to choose who to play at the quarterback position. Why start Maxwell Smith, a senior who poses little to no running threat? Sophomore Jaylen Whitlow may not be as capable a passer, but a few read option plays could lead to big gains that get the team into scoring position. Kentucky isn't likely to sustain long drives. Put explosive players on the field, even if they aren't as consistent. Oh... and have fun against Florida this weekend.

Missouri 3-0 (0-0)

The Tigers looked good against Indiana and cruised to an easy victory. They've looked good so far this year and are certainly doing a better job in their second year in the SEC. They're running the ball well, and James Franklin is having a strong bounceback year at quarterback. Missouri plays a terrible Arkansas State team this week before playing every single SEC East team in a row and then traveling to Ole Miss before hosting A&M.; THi

#12 South Carolina 2-1 (1-1)

South Carolina has been a good team, albeit in a slightly unexpected way. They're 67th in scoring defense and 66th in scoring offense.  They easily handled North Carolina before dropping a game (one that was very fun to watch) to UGA and then steamrolling Vanderbilt until the second half, when they were listless and let Vandy come back to receive only a ten point loss. The Gamecocks play at UCF this weekend, a game many have targeted as a trap game. I don't really understand that logic. The next three teams are Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee. I'm not sure any of those three teams are better than 3-0 UCF right now. Sophomore runner Mike Davis has been very impressive, rushing for over 7 yards per carry despite playing tough defenses. Their offense will likely go as far as he takes them, though Connor Shaw has been very good as well, having not thrown an interception all season.
