Did Costco make you go to the Mall?

Debate is brewing over Costco’s impact as a mall anchor, according to a recent story in Women’s Wear Daily.

While some research shows that Costco draws non-mall shoppers to malls, other experts say any positive effect of Costco on mall traffic is still undetermined.

Atlanta’s Cumberland Mall is one of four locations in the country with a mall based Costco. A fifth is planned for fall 2008 in the Los Angeles area.

Had you been to Cumberland Mall before Costco arrived up in 2006?

I was a Costco member for a year. And I will say Costco is a nice place to purchase merchandise from, that is if you are buying for a family of 8 or more.. Their quantities are too large & unless you have a bomb shelter for a pantry, there’s no room at the Inn for the “stuff”..

Their meat & seafood selection is very good but ya need a deep freezer to make it worth your while..

Not knocking Costco as a whole (their liquor sales at Windward is very nicely done).. It’s just not for everyone..
