Child Labor at Gap
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Gap executives recently withdrew a girl’s smock blouse from its clothing line-up after learning that the shirt, made in Asia, used child labor.
Dan McDougall, a reporter for the UK Observer, described scenes of a 10-year-old boy sweating over a hand embroidered shirt intended for Gap stores in the US and Europe.
McDougall also interviewed several other children who talked about how they were treated and how they got into the business.
A Gap spokesman said they found the report unacceptable and would be conducting a thorough investigation.
Are you surprised to hear about Gap using child labor?
