Lethal Lipstick

Custom lip color by Three Custom Color Specialists

A co-worker who shall remain nameless has a 10-year old tube of lipstick that she still wears.

Yesterday she showed it to me. The tube is tarnished and faded. The only way to identify the manufacturer (LancĂ´me) is by the logo carved on the top of the tube. She says the lipstick smells like cinnamon; to me it just smells…

I suggested she go to the nearest Prescriptives counter to find a color match. Or even better is Three Custom Color Specialists where they will create an exact match and keep the formula on file for re-order.

How many of you have held on to your lipstick or other makeup waaay to long?

What do you do when you need to replace a discontinued item?

some of them are expensive! Sometimes you want to hold on to the thing for a while!

Question, though..Are you supposed to stop wearing a color because a magazine denounces it?

My question is….How much truth is there to lead in lipsticks? I’ve read conflicting stories that say some brands have higher than healthy levels, but some time ago, I was told this was a hoax. Now the story was reported recently on Yahoo. Any insight?

Go to www.snopes.com and check out the information. They said this is FALSE.

By lead or hoax - do tell

I really hope the lead in lipstick story is a hoax. I get nonstop compliments when I wear red, and besides there seems no way of knowing for sure what brands do/do not contain lead. If anyone knows for sure please share.

By no more red lips

This was a true story - not the older one that shows on snopes. You can read more about it here: http://www.safecosmetics….our_health/poisonkiss.cfm

By things change ... sigh

Whenever I would go looking for a very specific item without success, my mother would tell me, “You have to buy what they’re showing.” Good advice - things get discontinued and that’s when we take a deep breath and go look for another one to fall in love with. One sure thing is change.

By lead in gloss?

The article says L’Oreal contains higher levels but Revlon lipstick doesn’t seem to have lead. Of course, they have several different product lines, so how can we know? Does anyone know if lip gloss had the lead problem?
