What to wear for Halloween?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Believe it or not, there are people who’ve already done several dry runs of Halloween costumes.
Some early predictions on popular outfits for this year include Paris Hilton in jail for adults and Harry Potter robes for kids.
What costume are you (or your kids) plotting this year?
Will you buy it or make it? Where do you shop in Atlanta for costumes?

We’ve lived in an intown older neighborhood for almost tweleve years and in the entire time we’ve probably have never gotten more than six kids a year to come by the house to trick or treat. Each year we always say we’re not decorating the house this year and we’re not going all out but we end up doing it anyway and we get maybe five or six kids. I sure wish the kids would be more like they were when we were growing up. We’d like to see a lot more kids and make it really feel like a holiday but the kids don’t seem interested to walk up the long driveways and the houses are far apart so I believe they think it’s too much effort for candy. So, who is buying all the Halloween costumes?

Oh My GOD I love HALLOWEEN!!!!!!
Your alter ego can come out! The child in you can shine!!!!!
I’m not sure yet…
Hm………
Probably…….. Groucho Marx….I know that sounds goofy for a girl but it just appeals to me for some reason this year!
I think it’s sorta…sexy in a weird way to dress up as a guy…..long blonde hair and that funky mustache…..
he he he!!!!

Halloween is not really a holiday!! It’s one of those over-commercialized days that stores try to capitalize on. If nothing is closing in honor of this day, IT IS NOT A HOLIDAY!!! It is just a day designated for celebrating some mess that most folks don’t really know about……..if they did, they probably wouldn’t want anything to do with it.

No Alexis, an angel would be someone worthy of praise………and any intelligent person knows that isn’t Bush!! He’s Rethuglicon #1!!!!! He’s our modern day Hitler, Castro and Hussein rolled into one! Only he gets to hide behind the American flag while he does his dirt!! I would think that most Americans can see that now! But I’m sure there are still some whose faces he could p** directly into and tell them it’s raining, and they would believe it!!!! Sad, sad, sad!

Wow…he is a good, honest, Christian man who is bringing decent principles and freedom to the parts of the world that for too long were dominated by evil, corrupt men. God Bless President Bush! He is a true American Patriot.

Wow,- Take a Valium or something. Nothing is worth getting that worked-up about! Democrat or Republican- just take a deep breath or that vein in your forehead is going to burst.

It sure IS sad kids don’t trick-or-treat the way they did in decades past. I know I used to look forward to that for months. I think it’s not only the long driveways & the space between houses but there are so many creeps & weirdos out there, kids are at risk. AWFUL! Well, I go to the annual Little 5 Points Halloween parade, which is a great family outing & I shall dress as a female pirate. Arrr! And most clubs have Halloween events too

First of all, Ohno….Halloween is a holiday for some of us, not “some mess that most folks don’t really know about”. That being said, I’m dressing up as Paula Deen, complete with sticks of butter stuck to me!!! Hey, y’all! Happy Halloween to the kid in all of us!!!

More and more people have started to view it as the devil’s holiday. Yeah, like my kid goes out and carves up the nieghbors and smears blood everywhere…
It’s the one night of the year where you get to pretend to be something different and then get a candy reward for showing it to others. What’s wrong with that?
I’m just doing the same thing I did last year and apply horns to my head.

Being that Halloween is on a Wednesday and I have to be at work early the next day, I will be wearing my pajamas.

Every year a big group of us go to the beach - all gay men plus a token lesbian or two - and we do drag on Halloween night. Best part is that we have a $20 per costume limit, so costumes are made from items at the Dollar Store, Goodwill and hardware stores. Tacky as heck and even more fun!

Actually, Halloween is a holiday. All-hallow-even. It’s the night before the celebrate of All Saints Day November 1. It’s purpose is to remember those who have died.
The Druids and Celts would celebrate is as the end of harvest and beginning of winter.

Alexis and Wow, Please… get a life. We’re discussing costumes here, not your political dribble. Pathetic. Paula Dean is a good one!
I’m sure there will be a lot of Michael Vicks, Britney Spears, and Paris Hiltons in prison uniforms. Boring! I like the original costumes. :)

But if Halloween was on a Friday/Saturday, I would be dressing as Pam from The Office.
Oh, wait a minute, I dress like that every work day.

Last year my boyfriend and I went as Jon Benet Ramsey and Jon Mark Karr….we were a hit…especially me with my “Little Miss Colorado” sash and bleachy haired wig….and my boyfriend’s costume…..faded medium blue polo buttoned to the top and too-big khakis came from a thrift store….thanks SA! Guess we’ll have to do another corpse this year but it’ll have to be timely/in the news….maybe Marcel Marceau….does anyone know if he had a “significant other”?…and what sex was it?
