The fall of low-rise

J Brand jeans with higher rise, $218 at www.nordstrom.com

Low-rise jeans still dominate the denim market, but maybe not for long.

Higher rises are high on the list of fall must haves. Think 70’s style wide legs and Gloria Vanderbilt jeans circa 1980.

Should low-rise be outlawed?

What is your favorite brand or style of high-rise jeans?

Who decides this? I’ve always wondered who determines what is in and out in terms of fashion.

Mike K-the people who make the jeans.

I’m not the hugest fan of high-waist jeans, but Level 99 jeans are the cutest I’ve seen in a long time. I am lovin’ that wide legs are back though….some of us just weren’t made for skinny leg jeans :)

People should wear jeans that suit them. Pleated, tapered leg pants or jeans only suit stick insects. They do not suit anyone else in the entire world. Especially if you’re overweight. They simply make you look a whole lot more overweight. Also, don’t wear baggy jeans or pants in the hope that your butt will look smaller. It only enhances your huge booootttyyy!!!!

Get some fashion sense for your body type FIRST before you buy your jeans!

Skinny legged jeans only suit skinny legs — about 1% of the population. :)

As I walked around my classroom giving tests today, it was terrible—all those behinds showing—not just the girls either.

Does this mean boys will wear high waisted pants too?

i thought the next wave in women’s fashions would be having them all walking around in their underwear. they’re practically there already. so many women (especially under about 30) seem to think the “MTV Video W*******” look is actually classy or tasteful, but they all just look like a bunch of sheep who follow the herd and can’t develop a style of their own.

that last post should say “MTV Video W h o re” because that’s what they are, but the prudes at the AJC seem tho think only they can print titillating crap in their newspaper, but the public can’t.

Some of us who are short, and short waisted, look like we are trying to wear our pants up to our breasts when we where the ‘new style’. Wide legs only exaggerate my vertically challenged self. Low waist to mid-rise is as high waisted as I can go without trying to imitate the 90’s Urkle look! Wear what looks good on you, not what someone says is the ‘new must have’. Oh, yeah; I like Paige Denim.

Chest cleavage has been around forever and nobody seems to mind. What’s wrong with butt cleavage? OK, if you’re over 30 you might want to keep your marshmallow tushi covered up; otherwise, if you’ve got it, go for the low down.

Thank god! Low rise jeans are just not right for my body type…and I can’t even tell you how many times I got excited to see a great pair of pants in the store, go try them on and they’re freaking low risers! Seems like they’re the only cut/style people are making now.

Good riddance!

My mid section is short as it is if I were to where high rises I would have no mid section. low riders are best for me.

I hope the high-rise trend does not last.

I just want a pair of jeans that fit. Low rise is not attractive if you have ANYTHING hanging over the top. Also if your jeans gap in the back when you sit or stand they don’t FIT. Stop buying jeans that don’t fit just because they are in FASHION. Maybe then the mfg will make jeans that fit real women - not sticks. That 360 mirror should be in stores so people get a view of how they really look in those expensive jeans.
