Memories of Liz

Claiborne (r) with Robert F. Kennedy Jr at the Council of Fashion Designers Awards in New York, June 15, 2000 where she received the lifetime achievement award.

When I started high school in the early 80’s, the dress code at my catholic school meant no jeans, no t-shirts, no sneakers.

I became intimately familiar with Liz Claiborne, and cherished a pair of tailored ivory pants and a matching wool sweater.

Claiborne’s clothing has been a staple of career women since she founded the company in 1976 and in many ways, she revolutionized the way the industry viewed the working woman’s wardrobe.

What are your memories of the Liz Claiborne brand? Have you turned to the brand for work clothing? Do you have a particular outfit that you love?

From ATL to ITALY

UPS

Winning design for UPS uniforms by Compl8 of Italy

UPS may be based in ATL, but we know they deliver all over the globe. Recently, they invited a group of Italian designers to re-imagine UPS outfits in honor of the company’s 100th anniversary.

The uniforms submitted by eight designers were judged for both style and function. Otto Bussetti, founder of Compl8, took the top prize for his fleece jacket with letters reminiscent of the sixties era.

What do you think his creation?
