More Sephora
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I remember when Sephora first arrived in the US. It was 1999 and the store at Rockefeller Center in New York was always packed.
Now it seems the 500 plus stores are everywhere, including Buford, where a new Sephora just opened this month in Mall of Georgia.
I’m not complaining really. Where else can you play with makeup without feeling pressured to buy?
What do you think of Sephora? Still a fan or have they gone too Starbucks for your taste?

The Sephora ladies will pull a hard sell on you if you’re there for a makeover or consultation. After applying the makeup, they’ll put all of it in a basket, take it up to the counter, and ring it up for you before you’ve even hopped out of the makeover chair. I suppose they’re banking on women not being assertive enough to say, “Just ring up those two things and leave out the rest,” or “Do you have a black mascara that isn’t $40?”
When I had my makeup done there, I ditched about half the items they “suggested” and still wound up paying nearly $200. It was all good makeup, though, and lasted a long time.
Bottom line: Sephora’s fun, and a fun place to splurge, too.

I love Sephora - it’s a great place to try new things. I say the more the merrier! :)

Sephora is my favorite place to look for perfume. They almost always have the newest thing and almost never try to sell you something because of the name.

I LOVE Sephora! I have 2 online orders from them now because there is no store that’s really that close to me. When I do go to the store it would be Lenox. I think they should put more stores out-it would be great to have one at Atlantic Station!

Sephora is the best! Whenever I travel, I look for a Sephora. Being from South Georgia—and no Sephora for 200 miles—makes Sephora even better. The one at DisneyLand is really nice….and so are all the others I have shopped. Online is fine, but I like to actually see, smell and touch the products, especially if it is something I have not used before.
