Temperley at Target

style.com

Alice Temperley dress from the Fall 2007 collection

Alice Temperley is next on deck for the Go International program at Target (after Patrick Robinson).

Temperley, a former child model, is a London-based designer who first built her reputation on pretty dresses. Her designs caught the attention of celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lopez who’ve made high-profile appearances in the frocks.

What do you think of Temperley coming to Target? Is anyone over the revolving roster of discounted designers or is there a designer you can’t wait for Target to sign on?

I love Target and love the designers they bring in, but I am upset that they do not sell these beautiful clothes in women’s sizes. They are missing out on a powerful market here. After all, we have money too, and it’s just as green as everybody else’s!

I think it’s great that designers are delving into the mass market. For many of us, this is the only way their work will ever be accessible.

‘Get a clue Target,’ I think your comment is especially on point given the model in the photo above.

Is Isaac Mizrahi not doing clothing for Tarjay any longer? I loved his clothing lines, too. They looked very upscale for a discount department store.

I’ve never heard of Alice Temperley, but I applaud Target for getting keeping things fresh for consumers but getting quality designers. Perhaps they learned from K-Mart with their lackluster has-been celeb clothing lines.

RAW, I have tried on their clothes and am in no form overweight - they are for juniors. No need for the nasty comments.

Maia - you must not have been to Target lately, they have not stopped carrying Isaac Mizrahi in clothing, shoes, linens, etc.

Having the international designers with a discount line is a great idea for Target, they are very reasonably priced and keeping the European fashion up to date in America!

RAW, you have injected ugliness and pettiness into an interesting, enjoyable, and polite thread on the fashion offerings at Target. I merely started the thread by pointing out one area in which that otherwise great store is deficient. You have no right to judge others based on four lines of text, or appearences for that matter. How shameful. I would rather be fat than mean and petty like you. How very empty your soul must be.
