Indianapolis — Georgia Tech offensive tackle Andrew Gardner, a two-time all-ACC selection, interviewed with the Falcons Thursday at the NFL scouting combine.

Gardner, who tore the labrum in his left shoulder last October and had surgery in November, will not workout at the combine, but is giving teams an update on his medical situation.

Gardner felt his interview with the Falcons went well. He wasn’t sure, but thought he met with offensive line coach Paul Boudreau.

“We sat down, then he taught me a play and then made me turn around and draw it up for him,” Gardner said. “I think that went pretty well. Overall, it was a pretty good interview.”

Gardner also interviewed with Kansas City. Former Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey is on the Chiefs’ coaching staff.

Gardner was measured at 6-foot-6 1/2 inches and weighed 304 pounds.

“I think the most important thing for me at the combine is to show that I’m progressing well from my shoulder injury and that I’ll be able to participate come mini-camp time,” Gardner said. “Just show that I’m getting healthy more than anything.”
