Newsome, a former 10-year NFL veteran, started his personnel career as a scout for Cleveland and has been with Baltimore since 1996. He's been in his current position for the five seasons.

Some of the players he scouted for the Ravens included tackle Jonathan Ogden, cornerback Chris McAlister, tight end Todd Heap, linebacker Terrell Suggs and running back Priest Holmes.

Vital worked with Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff in New England from 2000-04 as the team's assistant director of college scouting.

Vital, a former NFL running back, got his first NFL scouting job from Bill Belichick in Cleveland in 1991.

The Falcons were short one high-level personnel man for the draft after former assistant general manager Billy Devaney left to become vice president of player personnel for St. Louis in February.
