FALCONS REPORT

Falcons' DB Jimmy Williams still a no-show

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 04/17/08

Defensive back Jimmy Williams did not attend practice for the second straight day. Williams was the only veteran to miss camp and has not returned phone calls from the Journal-Constitution.

"It's not a negative [him not being there]," Smith said. "These are voluntary workouts. We're glad we got the participation we received. The next time we get together will be a mandatory workout."

Williams was at the team's first workout Monday and met with Smith later that day. Williams, who was moved from cornerback to free safety last season, spent the first day of minicamp as the No. 3 free safety behind free-agent signee Erik Coleman and Antoine Harris, who saw significant action last season, mainly in nickel packages.
