Did Heather Get Yoko-ed?

Somewhere, Paul McCartney is smiling.
His soon-to-be ex missus, Heather Mills, got bounced from “Dancing with the Stars” Tuesday night — but not before she pulled a pre-written farewell speech from out of her cleavage and, among other things, suggested viewers give up eating meat on Mondays.
John Ratzenberger probably deserved to get the boot before her, but Mills didn’t seem all that upset. Let’s just say she seemed ready to go — her facial expression when one of the judges said something critical about her dancing Monday night didn’t suggest unhappiness so much as an “I’m kinda over this”-ness. Maybe viewers picked up on that and decided not to vote for the plucky woman with the prosthetic leg anymore.
Or could it be something else? Before the competition started, this blog was full of comments from impassioned Beatles fans/McCartney defenders, who seemed offended that Mills was a “Dancing” contestant. More than one invoked the name “Yoko” in suggesting they’d never vote for her. Maybe they finally made good on that threat this week, but I have to say, my opinion of Mills went way up after witnessing her seemingly genuine good humor week after week. So while we won’t have “Strawberry Fields Forever” with her, at least we’ll always have the memory of her doing a back walkover in the middle of a dance routine.

I really was sad to see Heather go, eventhough I knew it would be soon. I was not ready for her to leave. Her spirit inspired me every week and I looked forward to seeing her. Actually she was really good and I think she was a role model for many people with handicaps. She will be missed. Heather, keep the faith and good spirits. YOU CAN REALLY DANCE GURL! JOB WELL DONE!!!

‘bout time. It’s a dance competition. She was horrible. Not even bringing the divorce battle into it, she shouldn’t have been on in the first place. She was not judged on her dancing, she was judged on dancing with one leg. She was awkward and clumsy and it was time to go. John and Billy Ray should be next.

While I am a Heather Mills fan, I knew she wasn’t going to make it all the way or even come close, but to go before Billy Ray Cyrus???? Billy Ray Bubba Chicken Cyrus?!?!?!?!?!?
I guess this contest has gotten down one of popularity rather than one based on ballroom dancing skills.
Heather can hold her head high because even with 1-1/2 legs she still did better than most of the others.

I think Heather did a marvelous job. I think Billy Ray or John should have been voted off. At least Heather did a variety of steps whereas Billy Ray and John can’t seem to mix-steps in order to form anything that resembles dancing. I think she married Paul McCarthy for the wrong reasons, but that should not interfer with voting for her and she was doing it for a worthy cause.

was it just me, but didn’t everyone really believe after just a week or so that it would come down to Apollo and Ian and Layla (or is it Laila?)??
My first best impression was Ian is the BOMB! and I love the young couple, they’re cute as buttons… but, even as a woman, i am totally impressed every week by Layla’s beauty and perserverence…AND ability! The woman is nothing short of stunning, in my opinion.
No offense to Joey — a thinner, trimmer Joey might be right there in the competition, but i think his size holds him apart;
John and Billy Ray… ok dudes, we’ve had fun, and you’re both charming as all get-out, but…see ya!

I like Billy Ray & John, but it is now time to boot em’. I hope Laila & Apolo makes it to the finals. I think they deserve it the most out of the entire group. Plus Laila is now the only female celebrity left!

I think Billy Ray is great I also think he is the most improved. I think someone else should win other than cheryl. I have seen a lot of beter dancers than she is.

I agree that it was way past time for the gold-digging, publicity whoring, media darling, Heather, to leave the show. Her true self was revealed in the snide comments she made about the Carrie Ann, the show’s only female judge, who dared to critique her somewhat honestly. And in regards to Laila, she is okay for a woman of her size and physique, but MY God! Her voice! What kind of steroid treatments has she been taking? Darth Vader sounds downright prepubescent in comparison to Laila.

If you were to hear Laila’s voice in person you would be surprise how beautiful it sounds (hard to imagine, uh?). But she really has a nice voice with a pretty face to go with it.

I agree that Heather Mills showed her true colors with her “departing” speech. It certainly was not very gracious. Just when I was beginning to doubt all the bad publicity she had gotten since her separation … she pulled off the mask!! Apollo and his partner are great. But, the favorite dancer wins, not the best. Case in point … Emmitt Smith. Great guy. Not the best dancer during that particular season.

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, there was, SOMETHING IN THE WAY SHE MOVEd, that made us COME TOGETHER. I’M DOWN…her LONG AND WINDING ROAD has come to THE END. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, when I SAW HER STANDING THERE, she couldn’t CARRY THAT WEIGHT.
