Tysheema Brown will have to wait another week to learn if she will regain custody of the troubled 12-year-old son she dropped off at a Nebraska safe haven in late October.

A custody hearing was postponed for a third time Thursday and has been rescheduled for Dec. 11 in Cobb County Juvenile Court. The child has been in protective custody in Georgia since authorities in this state ordered him returned on Oct. 27.

Last month, officials at Boys Town in Nebraska confirmed that alumni of the privately-funded school for at-risk teenagers have been reaching out to help Brown, who spent her senior year in high school at the nationally-acclaimed facility.

Boys Town spokesman John Melingagio would not confirm any details about possible arrangements for Brown’s son to attend the school.

But John Brocard, the 12-year-old’s court-appointed attorney, was optimistic.

“It will be a good ending,” he said.
