Former University of Georgia running back Tim Worley was zapped with a Taser and arrested Sunday on a drunk driving charge in Smyrna, said Lt. Robert Harvey, a department spokesman.
Harvey said police saw a black Ford Expedition speeding and weaving on Spring Road, near Campbell Road, at 3:15 a.m.

When police stopped the SUV, "Worley became combative with the arresting officer and after a brief altercation Worley was Tasered," Harvey said in a press release.
Police took Worley, 41, into custody without further problems. Neither Worley nor the officers were injured, Harvey said.
In addition to drunk driving, Worley was charged with speeding, failure to maintain lane, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
Harvey said Worley is being held on outstanding warrants from Arcade in Jackson County and Social Circle in Walton County.
Worley, of Alpharetta, was a first round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1989.
In 1993, following a drug suspension, the Steelers traded him to the Chicago Bears in 1993.
In March 1994, Worley was arrested by state troopers in Illinois after high-speed chase. Troopers charged him with fleeing and eluding police, running a red light, speeding, driving with a suspended license and having no valid license.
The Bears dropped him from the team in May 1995, ending his professional football career.
