Wachovia branches in Georgia to get name change

Signs and systems at nearly 280 Wachovia bank stores across Georgia will change to Wells Fargo in October as the banks merge.

The company also has hired more than 300 tellers and bankers across Georgia amid the shift. Wachovia merged with Wells Fargo in December 2008.
Atlanta will continue to be the headquarters for the company's Southeast region. Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi will change to Wells Fargo in late September.
The changeover will include remodeling at each of the nearly 200 bank stores in Atlanta.
The company serves one in three households in Atlanta.
