The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

UPS announced a multi-year, $9 million project to help relief organizations respond better to global emergencies.

The deal was announced at former President Bill Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting Thursday.

The effort by the Sandy Springs-based company and The UPS Foundation includes in-kind logistics expertise and cash grants to groups like the American Red Cross, UNICEF and CARE.

“If UPS can impact even a small percentage of [the] disasters that are happening daily somewhere around the world, this initiative will have been a success,” said Ken Sternad, president of The UPS Foundation.
