Troutman Sanders forms financial crimes and securities fraud team

Troutman Sanders said Monday it formed a financial crimes and securities fraud team to provide guidance to banking and financial services clients seeking counsel on the federal government's new white-collar crime task force. Comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement officials, the task force is charged with investigating financial crimes and securities fraud. Atlanta-based Troutman said such investigations could lead lead to civil and criminal litigation against banks, their parent companies as well as their officers and board members. Troutman's fraud team -- which includes 18 attorneys from Georgia, Virginia, the Carolinas, California, Washington, D.C., Illinois and New York -- has expertise bank restructuring, financial crimes defense and Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions.
