Georgia job growth among fastest in the country

Good news, job hunters — Georgia is one of the best places in the country to find a new gig, according to a recent report.

Kiplinger analyzed job growth across the United States, and the Peach State ranks No. 4:

• 2015 job growth: 2.6 percent

•  2016 job growth: 2.6 percent 

•  New jobs in 2015: 108,100 

•  New jobs in 2016: 111,200 

•  Unemployment rate by year-end 2015: 5.9 percent

•  Unemployment rate by year-end 2016: 5.7 percent

Industries such as auto and auto parts manufacturing, professional and business services and are leisure and hospitality seeing strong growth.

10. Utah: 3.8 percent 2015 job growth, 2.3 percent 2016 job growth

9. California: 2.8 percent 2015 job growth, 2.3 percent 2016 job growth

8. Oregon: 3.1 percent 2015 job growth, 2.3 percent 2016 job growth

7. South Carolina: 2.7 percent 2015 job growth, 2.4 percent 2016 job growth  

6. Washington: 3.2 percent 2015 job growth, 2.4 percent 2016 job growth

5. Tennessee: 1.9 percent 2015 job growth, 2.4 percent 2016 job growth

3. Florida: 3.3 percent 2015 job growth, 2.9 percent 2016 job growth

2. Arizona: 2.4 percent 2015 job growth, 3. 6 percent 2016 job growth

1. Nevada: 2.4 percent 2015 job growth, 4.0 percent 2016 job growth
