Delta names Bastian to board

Delta Air Lines president Ed Bastian is joining the board of directors of the company.

In addition to serving as president, Bastian was chief executive of Delta's Northwest Airlines operation up until the two airlines completed their merger transition into a single carrier at the end of last year. He was previously Delta's chief financial officer.
Richard Anderson will remain Delta's chief executive and a member of the board, and Daniel Carp will remain chairman.
