Delta announces pay raises

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines announced pay raises for its non-union front-line employees, effective Oct. 1 this year.
The raises range from 2 percent to as much as 10 percent. Employees at the top of the scale will get pay raises of 5 percent to 10 percent. Those at lower levels will get raises of at least 2 percent. The raises are for U.S. employees, according to a memo from Delta chief executive Richard Anderson to employees on Thursday.
Some other employees will get performance-based raises, according to Delta. Unionized workers at Delta get pay raises according to their contracts.
Delta, which went through Chapter 11 bankruptcy and emerged in 2007, said the raises are part of its commitment to reach industry standard pay at the top of the scale by the end of 2010.
