In one of the largest new lease transactions this year, Cox Enterprises has agreed to lease about 95,000 square feet of office space at 9000 Central Park, near Perimeter Mall. The office tower is adjacent to Cox headquarters at 6205 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd., and “the real estate opportunity was just too good to pass up,” said Cox spokesman Bobby Amirshahi.

There are no specific plans for the four floors of office space, but it will be used as future expansion space for some corporate functions, he said Thursday.

“It will be used for some headquarter staff who are spread out across Atlanta, currently in smaller buildings,” he said. “It’s better to consolidate our folk into more of a central space. This lease will allow us to do that.”

The building is owned by Atlanta-based Ackerman & Co. John Shlesinger, chairman of CB Richard Ellis in Atlanta, brokered the deal for Cox.
