A 20-year-old Cumming man died Tuesday night after his car collided with a tractor-trailer on Georgia Highway 400.
Police said Kyle Hayes Palazzo was pronounced dead on the scene after the Honda Civic he was driving plowed into the rear-end of a Wal-Mart transport truck stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Settingdown Road between 8 and 8:30 p.m. last night.
“For unknown reasons Mr. Palazzo failed to notice the truck was stopped,” Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said. “There is no indication of braking before making impact. Very tragic.”
The driver of the truck, Randall Griffin of Roanoke, Ala., was not injured. No charges are expected to be filed. Sgt. Chris Shelton of the traffic division continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
