A Marietta woman decided to exorcise some demons by burning the cursed items; starting a fire inside her Franklin Road apartment.

Felicia D. Johnson has been charged with arson. She is accused of burning some items near the fireplace and balcony of her Ridge Pointe apartment Friday to get rid of voodoo and witchcraft that was killing her, said Marietta Fire Commander Scott Tucker.

Johnson believed the items to be evil, according to the arrest warrant.

No one was injured during the 1:53 a.m. fire., which was contained to her apartment at 720 Franklin Road.

“The only damage was to the inside [of the apartment] and part of the balcony,” Tucker said.
