A Fulton County man is behind bars today facing sex-related charges, according to police.
Kentavious Carr, 21, is accused of molesting a 15-year-old boy on May 19th near Washington Road, said Fulton County Police Department spokesman Officer Scott McBride. He is expected to appear in court today.
Police say Carr approached the teenager, who was playing basketball, and offered him drugs, told him he made pornographic films and attempted to sodomize him, McBride said. When the teen rebuffed his advances, police say Carr pulled a handgun and robbed him.
The teen got away and told his mother, who then called police, McBride said.
Carr was arrested Monday after the victim and his mother, returning from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation where they had been working with a sketch artist, spotted Carr on the street.
He is now held in a Fulton County jail facing charges including sexual battery, molestation and armed robbery.
Carr was released from state prison in January after serving six months for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He also served time in a Fulton County jail this year, from Jan. 29 to March 5, for marijuana possession and other charges.
East Point Police Detective Cliff Chandler said Carr also has a history of narcotics-related offenses.
