Rockwell Collins acquires Duluth company

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids-based Rockwell Collins has completed its acquisition of DataPath Inc., a Duluth company that designs and deploys satellite communication systems.

Rockwell Collins announced Monday it had acquired all outstanding shares of DataPath in a $130 million cash transaction. DataPath will operate under the Rockwell Collins brand.

DataPath reported revenues of $243 million in 2008.

Rockwell Collins said in a news release that the acquisition is expected to be neutral to its fiscal year 2009 earnings.

The Cedar Rapids company is a defense contractor and manufacturer of parts for private jets and commercial airlines.
