Gas prices continue to rise nationally, but in metro Atlanta the average is holding steady at $4 or even dipping slightly below that mark.
Nationwide, the average price of regular gasoline at self-serve stations was $4.10 a gallon on Friday, with mid-grade at $4.22 a gallon and premium at $4.33, according to the Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations nationwide, released Sunday.

That was up about 10 cents in the past two weeks, and $1.10 higher than a year ago.
But metro Atlanta's average is holding steady at just over $4 a gallon, according to AAA's station survey. That's where it's been for about a week.
Atlantagasprices.com put the metro Atlanta average Monday morning at $3.979, down 3 cents from a week ago. That figure is based on motorist reports from different stations.
The cheapest gas nationally was in Tulsa, Okla., where the price for regular was $3.76 a gallon.
The California cities of Los Angeles and Fresno tied for the nation's highest gas: $4.59 a gallon for regular.
