Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo testifies at a hearing of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on severance packages for executives involved in the subprime mortgage crisis. During the Friday hearing, lawmakers criticized Wall Street executives for receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation while shareholders took the brunt of billions in writedowns from subprime mortgages.
