Alaska Airlines starts Atlanta-to-Seattle flights

Alaska Airlines plans to begin flying from Atlanta to Seattle starting in October.

The airline and Atlanta airport officials announced that Alaska Airlines will start flying once daily from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Seattle starting Oct. 23.

The airline will operate the flight with 157-seat Boeing 737-800 jets.

Alaska Airlines is a major carrier serving cities throughout the United States. Andrew Harrison, the company’s vice president of planning and revenue management, called Atlanta a city with “strong business ties to the state of Alaska and Pacific Northwest.”

Alaska Airlines parent Alaska Air Group has an expanded code-share marketing partnership with Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines, announced last November. Delta said the expansion would bring more benefits for the airlines’ passengers.

Alaska, with its subsidiary Horizon Air, flies to more than 90 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
