Flight attendants at Delta Air Lines subsidiary Compass Airlines voted to unionize under the Association of Flight Attendants in an election that ended Wednesday.

Compass, based in Chantilly, Va., near Washington Dulles International Airport, has more than 300 flight attendants. It was a Northwest Airlines regional carrier formed in 2007 that Atlanta-based Delta acquired through its merger with Northwest last year.

The Association of Flight Attendants, the world's largest flight attendant union with members at about 20 carriers, said 194 Compass flight attendants voted for the union.
